Senior Researcher Dr.Radu IORDANESCU

  • Between 3 and 7 April 2006 I have attended the WORKSHOP ON JORDAN STRUCTURES IN ANALYSIS AND GEOMETRY (Kaohsiung, TAIWAN).The aim of this workshop was to bring together experts in relevant areas to exchange ideas and inform recent progress, with a view to stimulate new research as well as generating new directions and opportunities for young researchers including research students.I gave a 50 minute invited lecture entitled “Some differential geometrical applications of Jordan algebras”. As I have already remarked on page 31 from my paper published in the previous MITTTEILUNGEN (No.8-9/2004-2005), the contribution of German school of mathematics to this field is fundamental: indeed, from Germany were invited trhee experts !
  • Between 12 and 18 August 2006 I have attended the THIRD INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON APPLIED MATHEMATICS (Plovdiv,BULGARIA).On that occasion Igave a 40 minute invited lecture entitled “Dynamical systems and Jordan structures” (which will be published in Internat.J.Pure & Appl.Math.)

Both my above mentioned lectures were of a big interest for participants.

I would like to mention that – despite of the fact that I have attended a lot of international conferences – such a perfect organization and friendly atmosphere as at the above mentioned conferences I never met !

  • On October 21st, 2006 I gave an invited talk entitled “Results of Prof.VRANCEANU of a remarkable actuality” at the Scientifical Session organized in Bacau (ROMANIA) on the occasion of 80 years since the creation of NONHOLONOMIC SPACES by Prof.VRANCEANU.
  • Between 22 and 29 October 2006 I was visiting professor at the University of London,in the frame of a scientifical co-operation (existing since 2001) on Jordan structures in analysis.

P.S.In 2007 I shall organize – together with some of my colleagues – the Fourth German-Romanian Seminar on Geometry (Dortmund,14-18 July,2007) and the Eigth International Workshop on Differential Geometry and its Applications (Cluj-Napoca, 19-25 August, 2007). These two series of  scientifical meetings have proved to be very fruitful – especially – for YOUNG Romanian mathematicians, but also – in general – for Romanian mathematicians.
