Optical Processes in Nanostructured Materials

Laboratory of Optical Processes in Nanostructured Materials (OPNM) comprises 28 members, 8 of whom are Senior Researchers rank 1 (SR1), 3 are Senior Researchers rank 2 (SR2), 5 are Senior Researchers rank 3 (SR3), 3 are Senior Researchers (SR), and 9 are research assistants (RA). From the 28 members of the Laboratory of OPNM, 21 hold a PhD in physics and chemistry and 7 are PhD students. One of SR1 is a PhD supervisor in Physics.

Main research directions:

  • Optical properties of composite materials based on macromolecular compounds and carbon nanoparticles (graphene, including graphene oxide and reduced graphene oxide, carbon nanotubes, fullerene) and phosphorene, respectively, for applications in the field of eco-nanotechnologies, health and energy storage (supercapacitors, rechargeable batteries);
  • Correlated studies of Raman scattering (including surface enhanced Raman scattering) and Photoluminescence of 2D inorganic materials (including dichalcogenides) and their applications in information technology, sensors and energy storage;
  • Optical properties of plasmonic materials, quantum dots and their applications in the fields of eco-nano-technologies and the pharmaceutical field;
  • Optical properties of the inorganic micro/nano-particles for applications in the fields of heritage and optoelectronics.
