AVAILABLE POSITION FOR POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER / SCIENTIFIC RESEARCHER
The NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF MATERIALS PHYSICS, located in Măgurele, 405A Atomiștilor Street, Ilfov County, organizes a competition for filling one fixed-term position of postdoctoral researcher / scientific researcher within the project “Portable platform for the in vitro analysis of a large number of antigens, antibodies and genetic material sequences”.

One position of postdoctoral researcher / scientific researcher in the field of Physics, Materials Engineering, or related fields.
The successful candidate will contribute to the implementation of the research and development activities within the project, aimed at developing and validating a portable platform for the in vitro detection of biological markers using optical methods, FRET, microfluidics, microfabrication and surface biofunctionalization. - Main responsibilities
The candidate will have the following responsibilities:
i) carries out scientific research activities in the fields of physics/chemistry/biology and in the topics of interest to the project, in accordance with their specialization, contributing to the development, characterization and integration of functionalized surfaces, microfluidic components and biosensor architectures for the multiplex detection of markers of biomedical interest;
ii) carries out the tasks assigned by the project director/partner representative in accordance with their professional competence and ensures their timely and proper completion, in order to support the smooth implementation of the project activities;
iii) participates in experiments for the physicochemical characterization of materials and surfaces using optical, spectroscopic and microscopy methods, as well as in the analysis and interpretation of experimental data;
iv) is responsible for the quality of the work performed within the project in which they participate;
v) participates in the preparation of phase reports, scientific articles, patent applications and technical documentation;
vi) participates in the dissemination and promotion of the activity results;
vii) respects intellectual property rights and the confidentiality agreed with collaborators;
viii) becomes involved in the organizational activities necessary for the proper conduct of the activities;
ix) complies with good conduct and the ethics of RDI activities. - Candidates must meet the following requirements:
• PhD degree in Physics, Materials Engineering or related fields relevant to the project topic;
• experience in research and development activities and/or in the implementation of research projects;
• experience in the development and fabrication of functional materials — thin films, nanostructures, active surfaces or heterostructures — using chemical/electrochemical and/or physical methods, as well as in their characterization by electrochemical, spectroscopic and microscopy techniques, with applications in detection, optoelectronics, sensing or biomedical technologies;
• ability to analyze and interpret experimental data, including the use of specific software for data processing, graphical representation, scientific writing and technical documentation;
• skills in documenting, preparing and valorizing scientific results through articles, reports, scientific communications and, where applicable, patent applications;
• clear, effective and coherent communication skills, team spirit and a high sense of responsibility;
• advanced knowledge of English;
• understanding and application of the principles of ethics and good conduct in scientific research.
Demonstrated experience through scientific publications in the field of advanced materials, thin films, nanostructures, optoelectronic devices or sensors, as well as participation in national and international conferences, especially with oral presentations, is considered an advantage. - Employment duration
The position is available for a period of 1 year, with the possibility of extension in accordance with the provisions of the funding contract and the applicable legislation. - Minimum base salary: 6400 lei
