Graphene-based composite materials for applications in supercapacitors field

Project Director: Dr. Mihaela BAIBARAC

Project ID: CONTRACT No. …. din 05/05/2025
Project Director: Dr. Mihaela Baibarac
Project Type: National
Project Program: PN-IV-P7-7.1-PED-2024-0964
Funded by: Romanian National Authority for Scientific Research, UEFISCDI
Contractor: National Instiute of Materials Physics
Start Date: 5 May, 2025
End Date: 4 May, 2027
Project Abstract:

The aim of the project is to develop a technology, at laboratory level, for the synthesis of composites based on reduced graphene oxide (RGO) and polydiphenylamine (PDPA) and their integration into electrodes used in supercapacitor cells. The project aims to integrate partners' technologies into a unitary concept from TRL 2 to TRL 4. Thus, within the partnership established between the National Institute of Materials Physics (NIMP) and the IT Center for Science and Technology (CITST), the technology of preparation of the composite materials will involve polymerization of the monomer in the presence of graphene, electrospinning of the composite in order to obtain nanofibers, integration of nanofibers into the structure of electrodes, testing them in supercapacitor cells and evaluating the performance of supercapacitors. The implementation of the project will make significant contributions both in the field of advanced materials and nanomaterials and in the development of technologies to obtain new solutions for energy storage.
