Dr. Corneliu Florin Miclea
Scientific Researcher rank I (since 2015) at National Institute of Materials Physics (NIMP), Magurele, Romania. Graduated the Faculty of Physics at Bucharest University (BU), has a M.Sc. degree in Physics (1998) from BU, and a PhD degree in physics from Max Planck Institute/ TU Dresden, Dresden, Germany (2006). Work experience: Phd Student at Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids, Dresden Germany (MPICPS) (2000-2006), Principal Investigator at MPICPS (2006-2008), Postdoctoral Research Associate at Los Alamos National Laboratory, Condensed Matter and Magnet Science Department, Los Alamos, New Mexico, USA (2009‑2011), Scientific researcher and NIMP (2012-present). Main area of interest and expertise: the interplay of superconductivity and magnetism, strongly correlated electron systems, quantum criticality, frustrated magnetic systems, Bose Einstein condensation in quantum magnets, low dimensional metallic systems, charge density wave phenomena, unconventional vortex pinning in superconductors, piezoelectric ceramic oxides. Publications list includes 78 publication among which 1 paper in Nature, 1 paper in Nature Communications, 1 paper in PNAS, 2 papers in Physical Review Letters, 10 papers in Physical Review B. He is the recipient of 2008 “Constantin Miculescu” Romanian Academy award of for work on the Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov state. Scientific reviewer for American Physical Society. Coordinated projects as principal investigator: 5 national and 1 international project. Responsible for research activities for projects funded by the Core Program at NIMP.
