Dr Victor Kuncser, is currently a Research Professor at The National Institute of Materials Physics in Bucharest-Magurele ( www.infim.ro ) and the Head of the Magnetism and Superconductivity Department. He is also PhD promoter as Professor associated (Doctoral School) to University of Bucharest, Faculty of Physics. His previous appointments and research secondments include: Ruhr, Rostock and Duisburg Universities (Germany), University of Rouen, (France), Padova University (Italy), Zaragoza University (Spain), Deutsche Synchrotron and Berlin Neutron Scattering Center. Victor received his PhD in Physics (Condensed Matter) in 1995 at the Institute of Atomic Physics, Bucharest-Magurele. He has been awarded the Alexander von Humboldt fellowship in 2001 (Duisburg-Essen University) and the prize of the Romanian Academy in 2002. He was a member of the Romanian National Commission for Diplomas and Awards in 2012-2014 and member of the Administrative Board of NIMP (2015-2019).
Promoter of 5 international and 9 national projects (including Large Scale PCCDI and top-down Solutii) in the last 10 years, as project coordinator. Victor published more than 200 scientific papers in ISI quoted international journals, 10 book chapters, coeditor of a Springer book and 2 national patents.
His scientific interest is in the field of magnetic interactions and local electronic phenomena in intermetallics and oxides, molecular magnets, metal-organic compounds and catalysts, nanomagnetism and magnetic interactions and spin structure at the surface/interface of bilayer thin films with different magnetic anisotropies, exchange bias and exchange spring systems, multilayers, spintronics and spin-valves, magnetic nanopowders, magnetic nanoparticles dispersed in various solid state matrices, diluted magnetic semiconductors, magnetic fluids, magnetic nanocomposites, magnetofunctional materials.
